Blog to Home: Why I’m Starting My Blog Before Moving In

Where Dreams Come Alive

There’s just something about a fresh start that puts me in the feels and moving into my new space feels like that new beginning, a rebirth, a second chance at life. Call me dramatic, but there’s simply just an unexplainable magic that comes from the anticipation, the planning, the dreaming, and this my friend is the prologue to my story.

I found my joy in the simple things—for as long as I can remember, homeownership has been one of my biggest dreams. As a child on a Sunday morning, I would eagerly await magazines that accompanied the newspaper from our local furniture stores. I circled all those must-have appliances pretending to be a homeowner. Oh, the joy that I had; it was my little ritual, my escape growing up—designing my future in my mind. Looking back, I realized designing gave me the greatest pleasure; the burst of ideas, the creativity, the art, the experiential environments —a career path I wish I pursued.

Unlocking this core memory now feels so nostalgic and bittersweet but also rewarding. The young version of me would be smiling ear to ear knowing that one day I’d be here, on the verge of unlocking the real key to my first home. It feels like a full circle moment that reminds me how far I have come.

The Perfect Timing, Creating My Own Path and at My Own Pace.

Sometimes it takes diving deep within yourself, blocking out the noise, and embracing setbacks to turn dreams into reality. This is my journey of rebirth and transformation.

As I inch closer to receiving the keys to my first home, I’ve realized this journey is more than just about bricks and cement—it’s about growth, learning, reflecting, and creating a life I love. That’s why I’m starting this blog, LifebyKeys.com, to document my path and hopefully inspire others along the way.

For some, blogging might seem like something you start after you’ve reached your destination—having the keys in my hand. But for me, this blog will detail the in-between moments: the planning, the waiting, the lessons learned, and the excitement of a blank slate.

Why Start Now?

You might still be wondering why I’m starting this blog before moving into my home.  Let me explain further, the excitement and anticipation are as much a part of the journey as the destination itself.  This isn’t just about the moment I walk into my house for the first time. Sharing this phase feels like the perfect way to capture the roller coaster of emotions, plans, and lessons that come with preparing for such a big step. Though writing helps me process the excitement and the nerves that come with such a big milestone; this blog is more than just a diary. It’s a place where I can share tips, personal reflections and my creative visions. Here’s what to expect as I prepare for the big move:

Pre- Move Planning: Finding the right decor on a budget through vision boards. Diving into the details of planning a space that feels like home, no matter how small.

Embracing the Unknown: I don’t have all the answers. This is a space to figure things out as I go, embracing the imperfections and sharing the highs and lows.

Lessons Beyond Homeownership: Buying a home is just one part of life’s bigger picture. I hope to explore the topics of personal growth, self-care, and building a fulfilling life.

Why This Blog Matters to Me

I say this line every time, that I am no life advisor nor home decor expert. I’m just someone navigating this journey like so many others. I’m not perfect, nor am I exactly where I want to be—but I’m on my way.

This blog isn’t about having it all figured out; it’s about celebrating the progress. It’s about sharing the small wins, the lessons learned, and the moments that make this journey worthwhile.

Join Me on This Journey

As I await the keys to my first home, I’m using this time to reflect, dream, and prepare for what’s to come. Whether you’re a first-time homeowner, someone who loves decor and design, or just someone looking for a little inspiration, I hope you’ll find something here that resonates.

This is more than just a blog—it’s a space to connect, to grow, and to embrace the beauty of life’s transitions.

Here’s to the beginning of a new chapter! Mic Drop! I’m Out!
